Data prep is where most of the outcome is decided before the conversation even starts. Teams that come in with clear utilization data, alternatives, and contract history usually have a much stronger position. The relationship still matters, but it’s not enough on its own anymore. Starting to see more teams make that prep more systematic instead of scrambling before each renewal.
